Welcome Capito! 4/14/2017

Oak Meadow Ranch had a very happy Thanksgiving celebrating the arrival of Capito fresh from East Coast equitation circuit where he was Champion of Capitol Challenge 12 and under Equitation Division.

Yes, he was one of the 100 of 200+ horses that successfully navigated the infamous Medal Finals course at Harrisburg.

Capito is doing a great job of filling some very big shoes now that Top Quality has returned to Florida. He went straight off the van into a schooling session with Anthony D’Ambrosio and his new owner. Never put a foot wrong. They are looking forward to learning how to go to horse shows!!

Thank you Seabreeze Farm and Catalina Peralta for finding and training up another fabulous horse for a very happy new owner.

Camelot BF shines indoors! 10/31/2016

Navigating a slightly smaller version of the course used for the World Cup Qualifier, Camelot finished third in the 5-year-old division of the Sacramento International Horse Show Young Horse Championships.

This program for 4, 5, 6, and 7 year olds includes points for jumping clean and for Grand Prix suitability. Scoring 93, 98, and 98 and finishing 12th of all age groups, Camelot had this to say about his rounds. “It was fun to watch myself jumping on the Jumbotron. I felt each of my rounds improved and I particularly liked my inside turns in round three”.

Thanks to everyone who helped make him successful. We are so proud of our baby, all grown up now and loving the job he was bred to do.

Camelot BF 2016 Champion of the 5 Year Old Young Jumper Championship Western League Finals – Camelot jumped clean through all 4 rounds including winning the 6-horse jump off. Mandy Porter did a masterful job, going smooth and silk, and beating the time by .2 seconds.

Purchased as a yearling from a Woodside breeder, Camelot is the son of Contiano BF, successful Grand Prix stallion also bred by Branscomb Farm, thus the second generation of a local program that is producing top quality jumpers. Malcolm started and developed him on the trails and arenas of Woodside making him up to be a pleasure on the ground and easy to ride.

Thanks to everyone who helped make him successful. We are so proud of our baby, all grown up now and loving the job he was bred to do.

We lost a one in a million mare on Jan 23, 2016.

She is gone from us having left countless gifts for those lucky enough to have known her, competed her or watched her perform.

By Quick Star, out of a full sister to Ratina Z, she was an early dream of Leon Melchior. She had it all and did it all, proving his genius in every dimension. She had the good fortune to be rewarded by spending most of her long life in the loving care of Wendy Ritter Peralta.

She also leaves her legacy in spectacular offspring, from Grand Prix star to brand new foals, produced over her life span, proving that her qualities are immortal.

You have left a big hole Q, but you are up to the task, as usual, a class act. Your babies will fill it to overflowing. You will be in every step they take.

Thank you Q for allowing so many people you never will know, to know a part of you. We will tell all your stories to your beautiful babies and share their antics and successes with you. They will grow up gentle, talented, feisty, strong and willing partners. Perhaps like you, able to transcend the definition of the species.
